About Us

Passionate about sharing playing card art, we curate a comprehensive archive for collectors.

Our History

The project began in 2019 as a way to exhibit my card collection in a confined space. Original scans were showcased on a digital picture frame composed of a Raspberry Pi connected to a wall-mounted TV, facilitated by uploading scans to Flickr and streaming them to the frame. After sharing the process on the unitedcardists.com forum, interest grew, evident from the burgeoning followers on Flickr and inquiries from enthusiasts seeking to see specific decks. Recognizing the scans’ utility beyond personal endeavors, the archive emerged as a repository for collectors to help curate their collections.

Driven by the shared passion for playing cards and the desire to preserve their history and artistry, the archive evolved from its original origins into a global resource. What began as a modest showcase for personal enjoyment burgeoned into a comprehensive repository, fueled by the enthusiasm of a growing community.
